More summer fun?

Yes. Friends. There were a few days of this...
"I'm booooored...."
And yes friends. I did threaten to take their toys away, say things such as "How can you be bored with all your toys in your room, with a trampoline in the backyard, a new play house, balls to kick, did I mention toys in your room. Oh and books!?" I know YOU'VE been there! I even remember doing it as a kid. So...needless to say I did the only thing I could think of...

make them brush my hair.

Okay, just kidding! That was a rare moment of peace and serenity for me so I had to take a picture and post it. ;)

Anyway, there IS no such thing as BORED at the Jones home. And if you say it, be prepared for "Mommy, gets to decide what we do now FUN!" ;) If I have the energy.

So I had them help snap fresh green beans (which they still ask to do for dinner now) Apparently it was THAT fun! ;)

Then I start pulling out some fun learning things...I'm tellin' ya as a homeschool mom learning never stops and there's no such thing as a "summer break" because let's face it it can get boring if you're not learning new things. ;)
Working on classifying animals between fur, feathers, and scales.

Or we paint (dinosaurs in his case)

Learning more about animals
She's just content as can be....

Riding horses is definitely happening around here...

Coloring
Learning and talking about emotions...like girls need it right? ;)
Or we play dress up. In this case it must be winter because the mittens on her feet say so...

And then we make homemade bubbles to determine wind direction using a compass... (one of his favorite science experiments this summer)

Cutting straws is so fun! And then playing in them is even better... :)

Aidan has been working on his "Summer Bridge (K-1st)" book this summer before we start his 1st grade year. (1 sheet a day)

Lots of reading time is in order (even if your sibling has stinky breath)...

And Aidan has discovered the comics this summer...

So as you can see...the term "bored" is not an excuse for lazy, whiney, arguing , discontent children. And in the case they refuse to do any FUN that Mom has set up, their beds end up being a pretty fun  place too. ;)
