Letter F and much more!

First, I'll start out with Abigail's week of learning the letter F last week. :)

We always start on the floor for "circle time" which means we sing our letter of the week song, find the letter F (or f) on our board, sound it out, look at our box with F items, read the F book, and sing a fun song like Five Green and Speckled Frogs (or whatever else it is for the week ;). Then we engage in fun learning time. :)

Our five frogs for song time (she loves that time!)

Making our F with Feathers

Coloring our F color sheet

 Farm animal sticker fun

I try to have an activity which reviews our past letters and this week she went Fishing!

She would catch a fish and tell me what letter it was so I knew which ones she mastered or needs a little help on.

This is a color sheet I have with every letter. She has to identify where the F's are on the page then color it.

Number practice: She stuck the same number of frogs that matched each lily pad.

She worked on number recognition by matching our F pictures with the right number.

Identifying and sorting capital and lower case F.

All her hard work displayed throughout the week!

A glimpse of Aidan's school. His school time is hard to take a lot of pictures since I'm doing a lot of teaching and working alongside him but I tried to capture a few more this week. :)

Reading time working on a fun activity during vocabulary time.

 Aidan working on number sentences.

A glimpse of his writing...

In Heritage Studies he's been learning about Christopher Columbus and mapmaking.

Math addition.

Learning about borders in geography

Learning about Grids in Geography

He LOVED realizing it was like a puzzle and put together a map just by using grids!

Working on his daily morning notebook independently (while I'm normally working with Abigail).

Working on writing and spelling words

I LOVE this picture! 1. Because he's working so hard like a little boy BUT 2. He's got his baby blanket near him (after his naptime). So sweet! He may be big but he's ALWAYS my baby!

This is how we work on our Awana verse! ;)

And so we don't leave out Miss Priss here is some of her "school" with Mommy. ;)

And we ended our week with a trip to the Fire station to meet firefighters with our friends. I don't think there could have been a better way to end our FUN F week!

As you can see we are working hard and pressing on. We will start our 7th week tomorrow! Although we may be tempted to enjoy more time outside. :)
