Mommy/Daughter Date Day!

For a while now, Josh and I had been talking and desiring to take each child out on special "dates" with just Mommy or Daddy for some one on one time. Because you all know once baby two is born there is just hardly time for singled out time. :) Well...after Josh and I had our family calendar planning date where we sat down together and planned our monthly events and goals we set dates so we were very aware not to take those away or schedule something. So this month I had time with Abigail and Josh will take Aidan. Next month, we switch it up where I will have Aidan and Abigail and Josh will spend that time together. Of course, Adelyn will be added to the mix when she's a little older. :)

So Abigail and Mommy's choice was cake pop time and juice at Starbucks! She was just so precious and I love how she just easily soaked up every minute just as I did. Even though there's just the simplicity of being a kid, we pray that these will lead to better relationships and a time where they know they can just share anything their heart desires. I mean our job as parents is making disciples and what better way than being intentional and setting that time of bonding, molding, and ministering as parents? Ah, the job is hard but SO SO worth it!

"Your child may grow up to become a well-educated follower of Jesus Christ, but if he arrives at adulthood unable to articulate or communicate what he knows, then you will have provided an incomplete education. You will have given your child a message, but failed to make him a messenger."
-Sally Clarkson (Educating the WholeHearted Child)
