1st day of school 2013!

Well after much preparation and anticipation it was time to start the BIG year! (1st grade!) Now Abigail isn't in Pre-School yet since that normally starts at age 4 BUT since I started Aidan at 3 1/2 in (Pre) Pre-K why not start Abigail in (Pre) Pre-K a little earlier at 3 with her brother (meaning letter of the week, etc). :) I mean she already begs for school as soon as she wakes up from nap time. I started on the end of the week for our first fun days of settling in and introducing the new books, etc so Monday we could dive right in. Aidan was so excited this morning when they woke up. I'd say excitement comparable to Christmas. I'm not sure Abigail remembered but when she heard Aidan bubbling over, she was all ready too. :)

This was just some new things we added this year. Our huge magnet board for activities (especially for the younger ones). (It's just an oil drip pan from Walmart! Thanks Pinterest!) Perfect for our bible characters, letters, numbers, and more!

We also added the three pledges (Christian Flag, American, and Texas) along with each flag. Aidan already new the American so we thought we'd introduce the others. :)

I made them welcome signs in each of their sitting areas. :)

Just woke up and was ready!!

Opening his pencil box and reading his note I left him. :)

Abigail's so excited about her new journals!
And we started the morning with HUGE cinnamon rolls, an egg, and strawberries. Yum!

 READY MOMMY!!

They got to paint their "mail boxes" where we leave kindness and positive things for each other. We talked about making each of us feel special because God made us that way. And to build each other up. So they have opportunities to draw each other pictures, etc.

After their "Mommy interviews" (for pictures)...since the heat wasn't too bad I forced myself took them out on a walk. Of course, you would think they never got out poor kids. I'm telling you with this heat we have definitely had our fill of staying inside. Bring on Fall! Please.

And just so you don't worry... ;) This girl wasn't left out one bit!

Thanks to Nana we had sidewalk chalk to play with today! :)

And we ended our fun day with a First Day cake! They enjoyed helping me in the kitchen and the best part...eating it!

It was a great first day! Praying we keep chugging along smoothly and making disciples! :)
