Saturday morning Josh and I decided to take the kids to their first trip to the Farmer's Market. It was actually our first time too so we were pretty excited to step out of the house at 8:30 am (clothed and all...not that we wouldn't be)...anyway, it was pretty impressive for this clan. :)
To say that Aidan was excited is definitely an understatement. ;)

I can't even describe how proud they felt afterwards in picking out fresh vegetables and meeting the farmers and their helpers. We have gone two times since and love making an appearance and picking out our newest greens and fruits. Even though our first trip was the most we've bought, it was well worth it and we have enjoyed picking up new things each time.
Thanks to the documentary Fat, Sick, and nearly Dead and Farmageddon, Josh and I have educated ourselves more and have been juicing two meals a day for the past week. I now enjoy having an 8 oz drink full of nutrients and vitamins! We have noticed a great change in energy levels and healthy overall feelings (mentally and physically). Definitely worth it! The most fun part that has changed is seeing our children preferring fresh fruits on the counter top as snack.
We are now more aware of the importance of supporting our local farmers in our community and we urge you to as well!! They rely on us and we need FRESH foods (without chemicals). Although we still eat other foods from the grocery store, I just encourage you to try it with your family (it's really fun!) and get fresh when you can!
