Thanks to Pinterest I've found a printable that explains what each Christmas symbol means. I've heard about this a couple years ago at Morgan Mill but since having kids I really wanted to make it a priority to research a little more. Josh and I have made it a priority to really focus on the excitement of Christmas and Jesus' birthday. With that come lots of decorations, presents, and so on.
So as you've noticed in a couple of posts before, we've done the Evergreen Tree and hung that on our back door.
Now it's the star. :) I'm sure you all know what that stands for. But just in case you didn't...
Matthew 2:9-10 says...
"When they had listened to the king, they went their way, and behold, the star which had been seen in the east in its rising went before them until it came and stood over the place where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they were thrilled with ecstatic joy."
Although, it can be a little hectic (keeping it real folks!), I love this time with the kids sitting at the table, having a craft set for when they wake up from nap, special snack, and the Bible open.
