You know those really REALLY, no REALLY REALLY proud moments as a parent!? I'm not talking about the whole milestone checklist. Now, trust me, I'm very proud when my children sat up, crawled, walked, etc and those are very proud moments for us or even knowing their ABC's and counting but for some reason this just tops them off to a million. Aidan has been reciting monthly memorization verses (and still remembers majority) for about a year now (since we started his PreK last year) but for some reason this is just so different. Our church started the Awana program two weeks ago and we have been so excited to begin this chapter. Aidan is now old enough (tear approaching) to participate as a Sparkie! Oh, this bittersweet day has come... (I remember Josh and I helping our own Spark group in our church as a college couple years ago! Time has flown...) Back to my bragging rights as a a mommy... By his 2nd week (let me repeat, his 2nd!!) he could already recite his 1st verse, the entire John 3:16! So with that he got his new vest and new book to start! To add to the proud moment...there were 8 Kindergartners total and only 2 could do it!
And the HUGE smile as he walked in the house with his vest on and new book in hand was priceless! We are SO proud of our little Spark!
