One of the many benefits of schooling at home is choosing when and where. I love it. While most kids would be taking a summer break, the Jones Academy has been continuing. Now let me just explain that it's definitely been a bit more relaxed as friends have come to play or we've taken some "field trips" to different fun places. For example the weeks of swim lessons had been a bit more relaxed than others or a fun day with Nana at Ikea (another post) had put a day on hold. All this to say, we love it because we can quickly catch up to where we left off and move a bit quicker if certain lessons are easier than others. Plus, when you have a child who LOVES school and asks for it, why quit just for summer? :)
Working hard on his daily calendar journal. :)
Super power letter skills!
He actually asked me to take a picture of him using his scissors. He loves using these things! And is mastering the cutting skills quit nicely I may add. ;)
Awesome art time with some chalk!
This beauty couldn't be left out. ;)
Aidan's "batman" drawing. :)
Got to love chemistry! ;)
Science fun! Master Splinter Josh brought home a tiny baby turtle his boss found at his office and let me just say, such fun!! The kids LOVED it!
I told you he was tiny! :) So cute. After the kids got to explore and observe this little guy, Josh and Aidan released him by the pond a couple of miles from our house. Aidan was super sad we had to let him go (and even almost cried...broke my heart) but recovered when we explained why that was a better home for him. :)
And he even recorded his observations in his own science journal.
Although we've been chuggin' along and learning this summer, it's been a blast. :)
