Resurrection Sunday was such a sweet day for our family. We planned to see my parents after church but decided to stay home due to some bad weather. After a wonderful worship service at church (which is a later post), we enjoyed a delicious ham lunch with sides and special Resurrection rolls. Now I posted on the Resurrection cookies, but let's just say this was the way to go for us. Super easy for the kids and a bit shorter. Very neat and definitely recommend this to anyone with children. Thanks to Pinterest! ;)
Croissants rolled out for Jesus' cloth
Take a marshmellow (we had snowmen left over) representing Jesus and dip it in melted butter (represents the oil) and then in cinnamon (represents the spices)
Then lay it on the croissant and wrap it up (like Jesus in the cloth).
Put it in the oven (the tomb) and let it bake as instructed on the package. When you are finished you cut it open and theirs a hole to represent the empty tomb. The marshmellow is no longer there. Now if we had used a big marshmellow the hole would have been bigger but the snowman wasn't there and it made the point very clear.
The kids loved it! Such a great teaching moment on Easter Sunday. Afterwards, we enjoyed the day with rest and worship. We hope your Easter was celebrating the Risen King!
