This was one of the most fun experiences we got to do in Jones Academy last year, when Abigail was in Kindergarten. Our unit was Butterflies and those two weeks were so fun. We got to watch those tiny caterpillars eat all day, get plump, and make their chrysalis. Of course we were all eyes because we didn't want to miss them coming out and seeing them spread their wings! In fact, we almost missed it one early morning and we thought one wasn't going to make it because it was dark, almost black but it ended up just being a little slower. ;) So we were SO glad all five caterpillars changed to butterflies. After we observed them for a while and let their wings dry out some and help them get strong with fruit juice it was time to release them. Such a fun experience!
