End of the Year at Jones Academy

Well, I figured I should catch up before the next school year rolls around in three weeks. Ha! The summer has kept me busy with swim lessons, Trail Life activities, playing with friends, and working with Young Living oils. Now that swim lessons are over and I'm starting to get Amelia on the same napping schedule as the bigger kids, I actually have a quiet moment. So quiet, the window blinds are up and I can hear the birds chirping outside. It's a miracle this is happening right now. ;) In fact, I even debated to blog, eat chocolate, or just sit and stare at birds. ha! In fact, maybe I can do all three and multitask it.

Anyway, I'm not sure if you can even read this but this was too fun not to share (maybe click on the picture and it will enlarge it). I asked Aidan to write out his summer plans as we were ending our school year. I think my favorite is "having a looooooooooong break from school." And as you can imagine as summer is a month and half in, the new books have arrived in the mail, he's anxiously waiting for his 3rd grade year to start up. While I'm not quite ready to buckle down to our schedule, it does please me that the kids love school time.

Here he is putting his last picture on his history timeline (the current President). I think this will be neat to look back on when he is graduating or even married and his wife sees it. ;)

His last assignment in history was writing the President of the US a letter. As you can see there's really not a lot to say to Barack Obama. ;)

 And...we're officially DONE!

Which means load everyone up and go to our local cupcake shop to enjoy some sweet goodness and celebration!

The first thing the girls wanted to do for summer was sew. ha! So I found some practice needles, yarn, shelf liner, and let them sew until their heart's were content. :)

And this is what the cleaned up version (included mopped) of Jones Academy looks like...

So what were some things we did on our first week off? Play outside a LOT of course!

 Make homemade bread!

 Take walks!

And enjoy the sunshine and the freedom of NO schedule! :)
