April 6th, 2015 our Amelia was moved to her own room. I will be honest in saying that on the same night as I walked in our own bedroom I cried. It's pretty interesting how a Mommy adjusts to that extra person in the bedroom and it feels safe. Safer that her smallest duckling is right there to pick up when crying or even tip toeing over to her bed at the soft rustle of movement. Just to make sure she's warm and comfortable. It was odd and in a strange way, too quiet. Josh was so sweet to comfort me and even offer to move her back in to our bedroom. As much as I wanted the comfort of her being near me, I also knew we needed to move her. She's was sleeping well and we were geared up to train her for her big bed and new noises. It's amazing how much that break of independence does on a Mommy's heart. And, I know. I know there will be so many more times ahead in that arena of independence. And I will grow to enjoy (maybe not some) those times too. But for now, I seem to want to hang on a little longer for my smallest duckling.
On April 12th, Amelia was dedicated at First Baptist Church in Denton, TX. We had both sets of grandparents and Jonathan, Laura, and Cody Brown to celebrate in dedicating Amelia to prayer and teaching God's word through her life. It's such a honor to train her in the way she should go.
Just some extra pictures of sweetness...
