Let's see...now where to start with her birth story!? ;) Let's back up to Saturday when I checked in the hospital (since I was 39 weeks, 4 cm dilated, and 80% effaced) thinking the Dr. would break my water. Come to find out there was still no more progress, wanted me to walk for an hour, and see if there was more progress. The Dr. on call was not mine and she didn't feel comfortable breaking my water since I wasn't her patient so instead of walking to see for progress, I opted to go home. Well Sunday night rolled around I woke up to some heavy contractions and thought to myself there's no way I can go another night like this. So Monday morning Josh called to see what Dr. was on call at the hospital and (insert hallelujah chorus) we were thrilled it was my Dr. So my mom came in town, Josh and I went to the hospital Monday afternoon around 4:30pm and Dr. Bartos decided to go ahead and break my water to get things going (since she was even surprised I went that long). Around 6pm I had the epideral and Dr. Bartos came to break my water. Things were not progressing as fast as they liked so they did give me the lowest dose of pitocin to get my contractions to pick up. After waiting and waiting and them upping my dose of pitocin little by little (2 more times), our little lady finally came at 10:19 p.m.!! She was absolutely beautiful! I was emotional...of course. ;)
Weighing 6 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long, Amelia Eve Jones was born!
Beautiful baby girl. Blessed.
