Boys

Josh: Aidan, what did you dry yourself with after your bath?
Aidan: (long pause) My pants.... (pause) I didn't want to disturb you.

Yes. I pondered to get upset. However, after realizing I forgot to replace the towels after cleaning the bathroom I realized how life with a little boy is and will continue to be entertaining.

  1. So sweet and thoughtful! This makes me think how he COULD have handled this situation...1) he could have yelled from the bathroom that he needed a towel - NOW!; 2) he could have come out into the living room naked and dripping (and cold) and disturbing EVERYONE; 3) he could have just "played around" in the bathtub until someone came to check on him, but he decided to use what he had, not making a big deal of not having everything he "needed", and got the "job" done. Our 'little' Aidan is growing up! I think a lesson is here to think how we react when God doesn't give us everything we think we "need"...do we become demanding, storm out showing our "true colors", wait around until someone else comes along to help, or do we use what God has given us to complete our task at hand? Thank you, Aidan, for teaching me a life-lesson and thank you Kristi and Josh for sharing your story!
    I love you,
    Nana/Mom
