LLELA-Prairie Life

A couple of weeks ago we attended another LLELA day. If you remember, the last one we learned all about the pond habitat. This time it was prairie life. The kids enjoyed learning new things, hiking, searching through the "prairie garden" for new living things, and Aidan got to learn how to use a bug net (properly). ;) He even caught his own prairie life insects to observe.

The teacher was then teaching them how to properly use the net. It's not like in the movies running around in circles trying to catch magical flying creatures. ;) Lesson learned, mommy. :)

 Story time...
And then before the nature walk little miss slipped on gravel and busted her lip. :( So glad I had ice packs from their lunch earlier to put on it. She was such a trooper. So while another mom I knew, the teacher, kids, and Aidan went I stayed back with the girls. And what was supposed to be a "short walk" actually took 45 minutes. So I'm thankful the little ones stayed around to run in an empty field. I promise, they had fun!! Of course, I did too just watching them play together. :)

 Waiting for Bubba!

So it was quite the eventful day as you can tell. Maybe I can convince Josh to come with me next time... ;)
