As you all know Thanksgiving week can be a bit hectic with cooking, planning, and gearing up for family time. Add school in the mix and it was a ride of a week! :) The good thing is Aidan kept right on track and I even added some fun Thanksgiving themed activities for him and Abigail. :) So here's just camera shots of our last week.
Beware! ;) Aidan saw a sign like this at a friends house and wanted one of his own so he had fun making it. Of course, we "discussed" how it's just for play and the intentions were fun but not real. :) I guess that's what happens when a big brother is outnumbered? ;)
We ended our heritage study week with making a weave made by the southwest Indians. He had a lot of fun decorating it with symbols of his own about his life.I was so impressed at all the things Aidan remembered from each region of Indians! I made a chart and I dictated the things he told me was different about each regions tribe and he wrote which one was his favorite and why. (The Plain Indians were his favorite because they hunted buffalo)
So proud he remembered these facts!!!
And yes, there were moments of boredom just looking for something to climb or do in the house when the weather is too cold. The life of having a boy right!? ;)
I made Abigail and Adelyn a turkey box for different activities. One night Adelyn fed the turkey colored buttons and had a blast. Fine motor at it's finest while introducing colors. ;)
Of course, the big kids were there in a minute to help feed too. :)
Abigail fed the turkey letters we've already learned!
Abigail worked on patterns...
Aidan worked on fractions...
Aidan also worked on ordering the timeline...
Abigail worked on counting and matching the number...
Abigail worked on following the directions...
Aidan doing his timeline...
Enjoying a word search... :)
Does this count as music? ;) Because they had a blast!
Where's Adelyn?? ;)
Superboy!
So that was our week of Thanksgiving learning before we enjoyed our little break from school and spent time with family.
