Last week we were back to our regular school schedule. If you remember we had just finished our "Fall/Halloween" week with pumpkins, candy corn, and scarecrows. I can't tell you how nice it felt to get back to our routine with letter of the week and 1st grade curriculum. Do I love our "breaks" of holiday fun? Yes! But I also love the routine too. ;)
Drawing fun with Adelyn! This girl is our artist!!
Abigail's first color by number...
Thanks to Grama she let us borrow her Kindle to learn and play with. :) Here's my Abigail writing letters. :)
And here she is for fun time giving haircuts and styling... ;)
I read the Leaf Man and they enjoyed using some leaves they collected to make their own leaf man or art of choice. :)
We also jumped (ha!) right in with the letter J! Here are a few J books I collected from the library.
Our silly song for the week!
J is for Jewel
Continuing with our letter of the week sticker book.
Finding J's!
Making a jellyfish!
For letter review I had Abigail Jump (j) to the letter I called out. She enjoyed it and did great reviewing our letters!
We ended our J week by reading The Giant Jam Sandwich and decided to make homemade bread so we could spread Jam all over it! This was her first time making bread and she absolutely loved her time kneading and chatting up a storm with Mommy. :) Of course, that was my favorite part of the day.
Practicing his addition facts. :) With company. ;)
Carrot break!
We just finished reading a short biography of John Audubon so after some inspiration we decided to make our own watercolor picture.

Geography research on desert habitats.
And using the scale in math! How many pennies does it take to equal an object.
As you can see we were right on track and super busy! Now we are working on the letter K and chugging right along in 1st grade! I'm so proud of their hard work and thankful I get the opportunity to see their little brains work and enjoy learning. :)
