Jones Academy update and letter K!

I'll start with a few things that Aidan's been learning about...

In geography he's been learning about land forms. One was the Grand Canyon so I found a video and he loved it. He even thought we should make a trip that week. :) Hopefully we will get a chance to make it out one year. :) 

In math he worked on using pattern blocks in different ways to make the same shape.

And he's been learning how to estimate and chart the actual results. This was working on volume. :)

 He loved it!!

We also hit a road bump with his asthma flaring and catching a cold so in the meantime we've had to take some breaks with reading time on the Kindle.

Reading comprehension...

 And of course, Lego fun. I decided to build a maze and let them run the marble through it and it was a blast!! They spent so long playing with it and even encouraged Aidan to build his own maze. :)

Abigail has spent the week learning about K! 

We enjoyed lots of crafts this week and Kicking practice!! ;)

 Kids learn so much simply by playing and since one of our favorite toys are Little People I caught her in action. I don't even force Abigail (since she's only 3) to "do school" and luckily she asks for her time at the table (keeps me accountable!) but when she's ready to play I know she will continue to learn through toys. Letting kids be little...
