Time (few weeks) has passed since I took the first picture. And as I kept looking at it in my "blogger picture" folder waiting to be written about (with the perfect words) I thought I will never have the perfect words to say how my heart truly feels about the topic. Who knew the first time my baby slept in his underwear would stir such emotion!? Call me crazy but it did. Some little guys wear them long before age 6 but for some reason it just hit me. Maybe because I thought it was a "man" thing. Of course, it could just be me and my naive nature. I don't know. But the simplicity of this picture and how I, as his mommy can see his baby face yet see the future of his boyhood turning into manhood just ignited my heart.
Oh how easily he can turn back into my "baby" as he lays with his favorite animal on top of his heart.

I know one day you're going to laugh at me taking a picture of the "baby" monitor on you sleeping in your underwear. You may even be embarrassed if you're showing this blog book to your future wife but let me just say how much I love you. I love your simplicity. I love how your little brain loves learning and reading. How you love (for the most part) to help your little sisters. You will always be my baby no matter how big you get. These words lack comparison with how my heart overflows with love for you. God is so good. He is so good to you and us and we are forever FOREVER blessed by you. Thank you for being you. Even in your underwear. ;)

What to say when tears are flowing down my face as I read such a heart-felt "message" to your son (our 1st grandson)!? Aidan may be a little embarrassed at first, but in time...he will feel the love and know how you feel as a parent about your children (no matter how old they get) when he is a father one day. Cherish these memories and the love that is shown through every day! Aidan, you are super special!
