So what did you guess as Aidan's new pet!? You'll have to leave a comment so I can see the ideas you came up with. ;) Aidan has been asking for a pet for a while and after Mom said NO to the snake and two weeks to convince of the new pet, we've come to...
Here comes the reveal....
Why Rats Make Good Pets.
10 Reasons Why Rats make good pets!
Hopefully you read these fun articles to see why it took two weeks to convince me and now thankful these critters make our family time even more fun. I'm telling you, even if the tail freaks you out a bit, they really are like a bigger hamster, full of personality, and easy to play with. This had been a great opportunity for Aidan to be responsible for his animals that he's been asking for. And now having them for about three weeks, I can say he has been doing great! He's been changing the water, and food every day and cleaning the cage often.
So now I will introduce you to the two sisters...
The black and white Dumbo rat is called "Boo." It took us a while to name her but after her playful personality and popping out of the paper playing Peek-a-boo it was only fair to name her Boo! Totally fits her personality! :)

Okay...I have to admit that when I first heard of the new Jones' additions, my first reaction was "Ewwwww!", but after doing a little research of my own, and meeting them "in person", my response now is more like "Awwwww!". I'm even becoming a "fancy rat" advocate at work. :-) Welcome to the family, Boo and Sully!
ReplyDeleteI know Aidan will take good care of them, too! (And his helper, Abigail!)
Love,
Nana/Mom
