Just to keep in the journal I wanted to blog about how our homeschool things are organized and what it looks like around the house most of the time. :)
School time takes place in our dining room. I mean school time in the sense of our formal time such as writing, math, reading, and such. Of course, we are flexible and we have reading time on the floor or math in the kitchen (using money in the "store", measuring, etc), but this is our main "school table." Aidan has his own school pencil box that holds all the supplies (crayons, scissors, glue, pencils, etc). I sit next to him with my binder and lesson plans so I'm a step ahead each day. :) I lay the morning work (the first thing to warm up) for him. Usually it's an easy writing page, folding, or color sheet. However, before he starts that we start our day with devotion time and short activity. That's been my main goal is making sure our devotion and prayer has been first priority in starting our day.
This is a small cabinet in our dining room that holds the file drawers that are Mon-Thurs activities organized the week ahead and books we use. The last two hold a few extra supplies. In the above picture on the buffet I actually have four boxes (not pictured) in each cubby that hold a lot of supplies we use the most throughout the year.
This is where our daily calendar time takes place.
And the big supply closet is in our room in the corner. It's a beauty huh? ;) (I will be glad to have an official "office" but for now this is it. :) Believe it or not, it's organized too. :/ This is where I keep construction paper, craft supplies, binders, his old school work to be filed after school year (in the brown file on the floor), sensory boxes, etc.
