Words from Aidan

I have to say one of the things that I love most about Aidan is that he is always thinking of people and God.  And I have to say that one thing that impresses me about Aidan is his ability to remember things. Take for instance this morning. We were driving to get the family donuts (this is something that Aidan and I do special from time to time) and he asked if God helped turn the white car over. Now conversations with my little buddy typically start off like this; the good thing is that I have a pretty good memory as well. See Kristi was traveling with the kids to go see a friend and they saw this white car that was turned over because of a wreck. Upon seeing this, Aidan was worried about the people in the car so he and Kristi prayed for them.  Now this happened about 4-5 months ago and out of no where he brings it up today wondering about the person and if God helped turn the car back over. So this is how the conversation went(sorry that it is long):

Aidan: Daddy, did God help turn the car over?

Me: You mean the white car?

Aidan: Yes

Me: No buddy not really.

Aidan: Do you mean God kind of did?

Me: Well yes God did not come down and turn the car back over but he told people to go over and help those people.

Aidan: (pausing and thinking for a couple of seconds) Does God have a phone?

Me: No, it is too far away for a phone.

Aidan: Well he could have a phone.

Me: Haha yes he could but He does not talk to us over the phone.  He talks to our hearts and minds.

Aidan: (thinking)

Me: Aidan, when you do something wrong do you know it is wrong when you do it?

Aidan: Yes

Me: When you see someone that needs help do you want to go help them?

Aidan: Yes like open a door.

Me: Yeah kind of. Well that is God telling you what is wrong and what is good.  So God told people, such as firemen, in their hearts to help people.  The same way with doctors. God told them to help heal people.

Aidan: (Smiling)

Me: Aidan, can God push over that car and heal that person?

Aidan: Yes (big smile)

Me: But He does not do that sometimes. He wants us to help people. And He helps us Help people. So God was there at the wreck but He helped the firemen to push the car back over and help the person.

Aidan: God is cool.

Me: (big smile) Yes He is.
